The Old Ambulance Station, 80 Howard St. Nambour

The exhibition opening will be the focus for an end-of-year gathering for artists and arts supporters, providing creative way to finish the year.

The exhibition opens on Friday 14 December at 6.00pm at the Ground Zero Gallery, The Old Ambulance Station, Howard St. Nambour. Local live music will be a feature of the opening, entry is free and everyone is welcome. BYO drinks.

Nambour ANALOGIC Stall-a-rama is a mini DIY indoor creative gathering showcasing emerging designers, creatives and artists. It’s all about the creative community and the essence of doing it for your self. We want to promote and support all designers’ artists and creatives, and rejoice in the hand made analogue culture of creativity. ANALOGIC Stall-a-rama aims to showcase the creative, independent and quirky.

Big Dead/Motion Picture Actress at The Time Machine. August 18th 2012

Big Dead have been making music in one form or another since roughly 2008. Recently the group finished their first self recorded EP: A Very Short Story. This material was the summation of the group up until this point. Shortly after the completion of "A Very Short Story" the group lost two of its members to rabid zombie death. With the new line up, Big Dead has shifted its focus to live interactive improvisations, instrumental composition, and songwriting.

Motion Picture Actress is the performing name of electronic musician Thom Brydon. Currently studying at the Jazz Music Institute in Brisbane, Thom’s work as Motion Picture Actress is intriguing. With a solid footing in jazz, Thom takes the genre of instrumental hip/hop and twists it into something new and different. To date, Thomas has played with artists such as Balam Acab, Lapalux (Brainfeeder), OooOO, Chet Faker and Oliver Tank, amongst others.

 Every couple of months or so, there are a heap of swap meets/collectable fairs around the Sunshine Coast. The past couple I have stumbled across some pretty cool modes of transportation:

As Bart and I were too poor for Splendour, and even too poor for Too Poor for Splendour, we saw The Madisons play (for free!) at Black Bear Lodge in Brisbane. Sigh, was really good.

Novenue #1. 30/6/2012

Novenue is the brainchild of Siena Hart and Nicholas Hew, 2 lovely folks from Brisbane who also happen to play in the band 'Melk'. Due to the lack of venues and shows in Brisbane, these guys decided to start organising shows in interesting and unorthodox places. Pretty amazing eh? The first one was at a house party in Albion, Brisbane. Free punch, free entry, $1 beers and a room lined with mattresses. Gentlemen (we were too late to see) Matt Kennedy, Melk, Sewers and Canibal played. Thanks for an awesome night (and for letting me crash on the couch).

 Melk are playing at The Time Machine this Saturday, July 7th with Nikko so come along. Starts at 3:30! (ish).
