So The Flumes gig was the last one for this year. I'm sure some might be thinking, what happened with the Big Bedroom gallery? No? Well it's taking alot longer and is a lot harder to do than we originally thought. We will be spending the remainder of the year to focus on this and get it to a level that we're happy with. The end result will be worth it and we will keep you up to date.

We wish a BIG thank you to all the bands/musicians that have played and to all the people that have come and supported. It's been tiring yet fun and in all a great experience. Here's a list of everyone who has played at The Time Machine in the past 7 months. It has gone rediculously quick and we have seen some amazing Australian music ranging from heart-felt solo melodies to brutal sludge. Check 'em out, have a listen and all that.

Saturday November 10th.

Kitchen's Floor has released a new 7 inch 'Bitter Defeat' and Matt Kennedy will be playing a solo set this Saturday at The Time Machine. Not one to miss!

Words about the record:

"It sounds like its own awkward victory, because it hasn’t capitulated, because these songs are here, and they’re lovely, and Kennedy isn’t rotting in a call centre selling dial-up internet to off-the-radar folk in far-North Queensland. In this way, Kitchen’s Floor is the most spirited and important sadness there is, and these are his best songs yet." - Shaun Prescott, Crawlspace Magazine

That's Godsploitation! @ ANALOGIC

A special film screening + narration from 6pm at ANALOGIC. October 27th, 80 Howard St, NAMBOUR.

That’s Godsploitation! A 90 minute compilation curated by Trash Video’s Andrew Leavold delves into the outer fringes of Christian paranoia and propeganda cinema. We shine the torch on Thalidomides for Jesus, Johnny Cash on the long-haired Jesus Freak trail in Israel, the burnt Elephant Man gospel stylings of Merrill Womach, an 80s MTV clip from scary cult The Children Of God, the rapping pirate puppets of Captain Hook (featuring a real-life double amputee “hooking children for Christ”), and the most unnerving evangelists you will ever meet: a farting Robert Tilton, petulant public access TV host and suspected kiddy-fiddler Jonathan Bell (known affectionately as “Screaming Boy”), and former child preacher and later LSD-addled exploitation star Marjoe Gortner who blows the lid on the whole Baptist tent-show caper! Plus tips on avoiding the slippery slope to Hell, and we revisit the Christian gore-fest shock tactics of Estus W. Pirkle and the Ormond Family Organization.
Sweet dreams, sinners!

Founder and co-owner of Trash Video, Australia’s largest alternative rental store, writer and film critic, TV presenter (Schlock Treatment every Friday at 8.30pm on Brisbane's Channel 31), festival programmer, MC, trivia quizmaster, agnostic evangelist, Masters student at Griffith University, lover, fighter, former masked wrestler "El Stumpo", obsessive archivist touring the country regularly with his compilations of fringe cinema, and occasional guerrilla filmmaker.
He recently followed up his first feature, the $700 fake 60s exploitation mini-epic Lesbo-A-Go-Go (2003), with Bluebirds Of Peace And Destruction (2006), a netherworldly reimagining of the infamous 1989 Brisbane vampire murder.
Leavold's latest feature is a guerrilla documentary shot in Manila - The Search For Weng Weng (2007) is the ultimate history of Filipino B-films, and chronicles Leavold's obsessive quest to find the truth behind the midget James Bond of the Philippines.

Big Dead/Motion Picture Actress at The Time Machine. August 18th 2012

On Saturday August 18th we had the honour of having Big Dead and Motion Picture Actress play in The Big Bedroom. Heaps of photos and a couple of videos at http://www.facebook.com/TheTimeMachineQLD

Big Dead have been making music in one form or another since roughly 2008. Recently the group finished their first self recorded EP: A Very Short Story. This material was the summation of the group up until this point. Shortly after the completion of "A Very Short Story" the group lost two of its members to rabid zombie death. With the new line up, Big Dead has shifted its focus to live interactive improvisations, instrumental composition, and songwriting.

Motion Picture Actress is the performing name of electronic musician Thom Brydon. Currently studying at the Jazz Music Institute in Brisbane, Thom’s work as Motion Picture Actress is intriguing. With a solid footing in jazz, Thom takes the genre of instrumental hip/hop and twists it into something new and different. To date, Thomas has played with artists such as Balam Acab, Lapalux (Brainfeeder), OooOO, Chet Faker and Oliver Tank, amongst others.

Weird Vehicles.

Every couple of months or so, there are a heap of swap meets/collectable fairs around the Sunshine Coast. The past couple I have stumbled across some pretty cool modes of transportation:
Zombie Apocalypse Vehicle at the Nambour Swap Meet, 2012.

Gypsy Van at the Gympie Swap Meet 2012
